Shot with pellet gun in the abdomen while defending a girl from Basij forces who were beating her during protests at Shah Abdolazim Square on 18 Dey. He was transferred to a private clinic but surgery could not be performed due to lack of facilities, receiving only outpatient treatment. He died two days later on 20 Dey from the severity of his injuries.
