Erfan Soltani

Clothes shop owner arrested in his home on 8 January 2026 for being connected with the protests in Fardis. He was denied a lawyer and his family was not notified of the charges brought against him. Several days later, Soltani was notified that he was to face execution on 14 January, less than a week after his arrest. Shortly before the execution date, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied any plans to hang people, and Soltani's family was notified that his execution had been postponed
