Abolfazl Karimi

During protests on January 8, 2026, when a woman was shot near Nowruz ice cream shop in Haft-Howz area, he left the restaurant where he worked to try to save her. Security forces attacked him and severely beat him. Since he was a chef and had a kitchen knife in his pocket, they arrested him. He was taken to Tehran Grand Prison where he was tortured - his hand was broken and his leg was shot or hit with pellets. He had recently undergone stomach surgery and his family is very concerned about his health condition.
